Switchboards

What is a Switchboard? An industrial switchboard is a large-scale power distribution center that divides an electrical power feed into subsidiary circuits while providing a circuit breaker or fuse for each circuit. It acts as the "Grand Central Station" of your facility’s electrical system, usually serving as the Main Service Entrance.

Switchboards: The Core of Your Infrastructure

Our Comprehensive Services include: From initial engineering submittals to final onsite commissioning, ADP provides end-to-end switchboard solutions. We specialize in UL 891 Listed equipment designed for high-capacity power distribution in the most demanding environments.

Switchboards Built to Last

Our switchboards are engineered with a "Rugged-First" mentality. Featuring heavy-duty busbar systems (copper or aluminum) and reinforced steel frameworks, these units are rated from 1200A to 4000A. Whether you need a simple main-lug-only lineup or a complex multi-section distribution center, our builds handle the load with zero compromise.

Uses and Applications

Main Service Entrance: Accepting power directly from the utility transformer.

Heavy Industrial: Powering large manufacturing lines, HVAC systems, and heavy machinery.

Commercial Complexes: High-rise buildings, hospitals, and shopping centers.

Oil & Gas / Infrastructure: Providing reliable distribution for remote sites and large-scale pumping stations.

Operation & Engineering

Switchboards operate on a Dead-Front design, meaning no live parts are exposed to the operator. Power enters through the Main Section (Main Lug or Main Breaker) and is distributed across a Busbar System. These busbars are the structural "spine" of the unit, designed to handle immense electrical and thermal stress during operation.
